Hi there, I'm Denise! Hello, my name is Denise Chmiel. I am a Marriage & Family Therapist licensed in California. I earned my Master’s in Counseling from California State University, Northridge. My work with clients is client-centered, solution-focused, and trauma-informed. I approach clients respectfully, warmly, and with a sincere desire to assist them in gaining insight, achieving their therapeutic goals, and feeling better. My approach I believe everyone does the best they can, and people seek therapy to feel better and do better. A warm, trusting therapist-client relationship is essential so clients can develop tools to address complicated feelings and situations and find peace of mind. My focus I work with adults, older adults, and adolescents experiencing depression, anxiety, relationship conflict, sadness, loneliness, or feeling stuck in hopeless situations. My communication style I offer a safe, confidential, non-judgmental space where I encourage clients to talk about their lives, process thoughts and feelings, and work toward clarity and peace of mind to move forward and be their best selves. Clients appreciate that I am direct, genuine, and empathetic. My journey to therapy Life can be challenging, and people often need help meeting those challenges. I believe in the therapeutic process and enjoy helping people make meaningful changes that enable them to maximize their potential and feel comfortable in the world. My goals for you I meet people where they are and help clients identify what is important to them and how to approach changes that provide relief, setting realistic and achievable goals.
