Getting to know Denise DePalma-Karpf
Are you in a place in life where you feel "stuck" but recognize positive changes need to occur? Do you experience emotional pain and/or fear? Is your mood so unpredictable it impacts your mental health? Is past trauma still affecting your well-being? You may be dealing with something really difficult, but you don't have to do it alone. I realize it takes courage and strength to reach out for help. However, you've already taken the first step! Whether you are looking for short-term therapy or more long-term support to process and heal from deeper issues, I would like to help you. I hold a Master's in Social Work from Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, and a Bachelor's degree from the University of Phoenix. A session with me is just a booking away!
What should a new client know about working with you?
You are worthy of happiness and peace. It starts with being kind to yourself. Talking to someone and creating that inner peace can be life changing. You will find my approach engaging, empathetic, and compassionate. I create a safe therapeutic space where we you can talk freely and without judgement.
What is your typical process for working with clients?
My approach is not a one size fits all. I listen to your needs then use interventions accordingly. Some include: CBT (thoughts affect feelings, behaviors), Psychodynamic Therapy, Mindfulness, Person Centered Therapy. Also, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy is helpful for clients to gain psychological flexibility with their thoughts and emotions.
