Getting to know Denise Medley
Hi! My name is Denise, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in North Carolina and Florida, a Licensed Independent Social Worker-CP in South Carolina, and a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker in Vermont. I earned my Master's in Social Work from Norfolk State University. I specialize in mood and adjustment disorders such as depression and anxiety, as well as trauma-associated disorders. I have also worked with a variety of other issues, including behaviors, relationships, and grief. I am honest, open, and direct, yet warm and encouraging at the same time. I love to find humor in situations where others might not expect it, as I believe humor can be a valuable part of therapy when appropriate. I incorporate goal-setting for your mental health, personal, and professional life. My counseling approach is client-centered, and I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and the Stages of Change model as therapeutic interventions to help you address the challenges you face.
