Psychotherapist
MD
Hi there, I'm Denise! Everyone has choices to make in life. Some are harder to make than others. My goal for you is to work together to provide a non-judgmental therapy experience. I have been providing therapy to individuals from age nine to adults for over 15 years. My focus I have a wide array of experience working with adults 18+. My specialty is diverse and includes working with individuals with learning challenges, social skills challenges, anxiety/stress, behavior concerns, trauma/abuse, coping skills, friendship skills, self-esteem/self-confidence, problem-solving, self-harming/suicidal ideation, and grief. My approach My approach to therapy is to use a variety of modalities, such as Person-centered therapy, to guide you through steps to resolve problem Reality therapy to discover choices and options and what is happening in your life now. Cognitive behavior therapy assists with recognizing how your thinking affects your behavior. My communication style My style of therapy is to create a warm therapeutic environment where you feel safe, relaxed, and open to begin discussing concerns. The decision to seek therapy can be scary and feel overwhelming. Making this decision together can lessen your apprehension and create room for change. My journey to mental healthcare I was drawn to become a counselor because I was fortunate to have a mentor when I was younger. This mentor talked to me about my concerns, guided me in the right direction, and supported my goals. My goal is to pay forward the support I received. I was accepted at a University and majored in counseling, which later led me to become a Therapist. My goals for you I am looking forward to us working together and helping you see things differently. I aim to support you in understanding patterns and identifying how these patterns relate to your life today. Don’t worry, I will meet you where you are, and we can make the transition together.
