I'm a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (111513). I believe together we can create a safe environment in which you can explore and take the necessary steps to grow. My approach Each person I work with is unique and has their way of learning and processing. In my practice, I have utilized Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Exposure Therapy, and Anger Management. My focus My ideal clients have taken the first step by making an appointment. my job is not to tell them what to do, but to provide them with support and the space to ask questions and make choices that support their goals My communication style I support each of my clients by providing a calm and positive environment. There is no room for shame or judgment. I have worked with children and adolescents experiencing anxiety, anger, depression, ADHD, Gender diversity, and transgender. My journey to mental healthcare I have always worked with children and adolescents. I started with preschoolers, each job building on my knowledge and experience until I found myself in college at 50. I earned 2 associates one in children and infants and one in preschool. Undergraduate in child development, and 2 masters in MFT and School Counseling. My goals for you By exploring with the clients they can begin to set and priortize their goals in order to meet their needs. All goals are client centered not therapist centered. My first session with you I believe the first session allows the client and the therapist to get to know each other. For the client to discuss the purpose and expectations they are hoping for. To discuss confidentiality and any necessary administration.
