Hi there, I'm Desiree! Hello, my name is Desiree Johnson, and I am a licensed therapist in the state of Texas (license number 82976). I studied and graduated from Sam Houston State University with a Master's in Counseling, concentrating in Marriage, Couples, and Family therapy. My approach My theoretical approach to therapy is centered on your needs. I have experience working with Emotion-Focused Therapy, CBT, DBT, Psychoeducational Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and the Gottman Method. Additionally, I have knowledge of Adlerian Theory, Acceptance Therapy, and Bowenian Theory. My focus Over the past eight years, I have worked with various diagnoses including, but not limited to, Anxiety, Depression, Bipolar Disorder, Schizophrenia, Mania, Psychosis, some addictions, and others. I have worked with teens, individual adults, families, and couples. I also have experience with Autism as an ABA therapist, supporting very young children, older children, and adults. My communication style I strive to create a tone of safety and transparency in sessions. My goal is to make you feel as comfortable as possible sharing your secrets and being vulnerable with a complete stranger. As we continue to get to know each other, I hope you feel more open and secure discussing everything you want to share freely. My role as a therapist is to help you, which sometimes includes trying new things that may feel challenging or outside your comfort zone. These challenges will always align with the goals you set and will move at your own pace. My goals for you I believe it's important to know your goals when you come to therapy.
