Hi there, I'm De'Trece! Clinical psychotherapist De'Trece Lavender, NCC, LCPC, CAGCS, CCATP, C-DBT (affectionately called Ms. Dee) brings over 20 years of experience as a music therapist, arts educator, and clinical administrator. I earned my Master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Loyola College. Trained in expressive arts therapy, my extensive work with children and teens has allowed me to assess and treat clients who previously may not have been able to attend traditional counseling sessions consistently. My approach My approach is client-centered, holistic, and integrates CBT and DBT to help address challenges in our thoughts that influence our behaviors and how we move through life. I also use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy to assist my clients in becoming unstuck and moving forward with purpose. My focus I specialize in the following areas: Abandonment, Adjustment Disorder, ADHD, Anxiety, Attachment Issues, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Career Counseling, Child or Adolescent, Depression, Evaluation and Assessment services, Expressive Arts, Identity, Life Transitions, Spirituality and Religion, Stress, Trauma, Burnout, and Compassion Fatigue. My communication style Professional, but not “uptight.” I believe there is a place for professionalism; however, therapy should not feel like a staff meeting. I'm also creative. My first session with you I focus on gathering information to help me formulate a treatment plan that works for you as a unique individual.
