Hi there, I'm Diane! Hello! I'm so glad you're here! My name is Diane Crockett. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor licensed in the states of Georgia and Illinois. I earned my Master’s in Counseling from Chicago State University. I have a background in substance abuse and working with clients who have chronic diseases. I am here to support individuals and families as they address their mental health challenges. My approach My theoretical approach is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). CBT is an evidence-based talk therapy that helps you manage your problems by changing the way you think and behave. It’s most commonly used to treat anxiety and depression but can be useful for other mental and physical health problems. My focus I typically work with children and adults, and I also do couples counseling. I work with clients who are experiencing anxiety and depression. Each session is tailored to meet the needs of the client. My communication style The tone of the environment I create for my clients is rooted in compassion and understanding. I use my active listening skills to check in with my clients so I can truly understand the message they are conveying. Building rapport with my clients is also important so that therapeutic trust is established. This supportive environment allows me to help clients develop coping strategies, build resilience, and navigate challenges. My journey to mental healthcare Ever since I was a child, I admired those individuals who went out of their way to help people in a kind and considerate manner. I learned that those people were called therapists. I am driven to do this work because I can see how being a therapist positively impacts our clients and their family lives. My goals for you In session, I work to build rapport with my clients and then collaborate with them to identify their strengths, values, and aspirations as they relate to attaining goals that are specific, measurable, achievable, and relevant.
