Diane Loffmin, LPC

Psychotherapist
78 Chappell Mill Rd, Griffin, GA
Hi there, I'm Diane! In 2012 I began my grad school application essay by saying that it had taken me 62 years to discover what I wanted to be when I grew up. I earned my Master’s in Clinical Psychology from Clayton State University and have now been practicing as a Licensed Professional Counselor for about 10 years. I bring to my practice a love for learning and exploring, combined with a steadfast belief in not only the ability but the right of people to grow and heal. My approach I use techniques from a number of therapeutic modalities and even pull from my own life experience and my training as a coach. I prefer whenever possible to be client-led because I believe that we each have the answers we need within ourselves and that you are the expert on you. That means my job is to develop a trusting relationship between us, to listen deeply, and reflect with you, encouraging and guiding you to reach your goals. I find this to be the most exciting and rewarding work I have ever done and look forward to a collaboration based on who you are and what you need. My focus I have extensive experience working with adults carrying the burdens of severe childhood emotional, physical, and sexual trauma. I employ, among other things, the healing tools of Internal Family Systems parts work as well as Strength-based therapy. I believe it is important to address any limiting or negative core beliefs that can often keep us stuck and to develop positive options. If I had to describe myself in just a few words I would say I am Authentic, Trustworthy, Smart, and Grateful. If you are willing to work, or even willing to be willing, let's see if we can work together. My communication style Before everything, there is the need for trust and I know that the onus is on me to be a trustworthy guardian for my clients. I have always been a good listener, and through my training as a therapist and a coach I have developed the ability to listen deeply and without judgment.
