Hi there, I'm Dino! Hello, my name is Dino Petruzzi, and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) licensed in California. I have been a therapist for the past 7 years. My approach to therapy is compassionate and non-judgmental, focusing on what each client needs to get out of every session. My approach I would describe my theoretical approach as a blend of humanistic therapy and compassionate inquiry, where both the individual and therapist explore levels of consciousness, mental climate, hidden assumptions, implicit memories, and body states that reveal the true message behind the words spoken and unspoken. My focus Throughout my years of practice, I have worked with children, adolescents, and adults. Currently, I primarily work with adults who have dual diagnoses, relational issues, and family difficulties. I feel comfortable supporting adults with any mental health diagnosis. My communication style I create an environment of compassion, honesty, and non-judgmental support tailored to each client. I use whatever methods work best for the individual so they feel safe, secure, and comfortable in the therapeutic space. My journey to therapy I began my career as a special education teacher, working with special needs children in residential treatment facilities, group homes, and nontraditional schools. I was drawn to this population because I was once one of these kids, and no one seemed to help me. I spent over 25 years as a teacher and counselor, naturally becoming a therapist to these children. This inspired me to pursue therapy professionally to do more for each child I worked with. My education I hold a Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy from Capella University, a Master’s in Counseling from California State University, San Bernardino, and a Master’s in Special Education from National University. My goal is to provide comprehensive, compassionate care tailored to each individual's unique needs.
