Getting to know Diode De Dios

My name is Diode de Dios, pronounced like "Jodi." I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) based in San Diego, California, working with clients statewide via Telehealth. I hold a Master's in Social Work from the University of Southern California and a Bachelor's degree from the University of California, San Diego. I work with adolescents, adults, and older adults, specializing in depression, anxiety, stress, grief, and life transitions. I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Strength-Based Therapy, and Solution-Focused Therapy to help clients make progress and feel better. My approach to therapy varies depending on each person's needs. I consider all aspects of a person's life: mind, body, spiritual, and environmental. I frequently use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, as both help me and the client build a shared understanding of where they are, what progress means to them, and how to move toward that intention. My style works well with teens, adults, and older adults who may be coping with challenges related to relationships, addictions, self-sabotage, life transitions, and death and dying. These often manifest as depression, anxiety, and stress. I work with clients to navigate relationships with themselves and others, support them through life transitions, and help build skills to cope, reframe negative self-thoughts and beliefs, and empower them to make the best decisions for themselves. My communication style is warm, calm, helpful, and good-natured. I create a safe space where clients feel comfortable and brave enough to share anything. I take pride in being non-judgmental and maintaining unconditional positive regard for my clients. I've always been described as a ?bridge,? someone who thrives in making connections, seeking understanding, and helping others. My lived experiences as a teacher, non-profit professional, community advocate, and social worker drew me to therapy.
