Psychotherapist

Welcome! Finding the right therapist to work with can be challenging, and I want to acknowledge your courage in taking the first step toward creating change in your life. My primary goal is to create a safe space for you to be authentically yourself without fear of judgment. My approach I work from a trauma-informed, person-centered perspective, which means that your feelings, thoughts, and experiences will be the focus of our sessions. My role is to create a space where you feel validated, accepted, and understood. Together, we’ll work to identify your concerns and develop practical tools and strategies to help you work through them. My focus I specialize in supporting adults who are navigating challenges such as depression, anxiety, grief, or trauma. My approach is warm, authentic, and tailored to your needs, with the overall goal of helping you find relief, healing, and renewed confidence. I also have a special focus on working with LGBTQ+ clients and women over 50, creating a safe and affirming space to explore identity, life transitions, and personal growth. My communication style My communication style is warm, authentic, and down-to-earth. I strive to create a safe, nonjudgmental space where clients feel comfortable being themselves. I love to use humor when it’s helpful, while also knowing when to be direct and compassionate. My goal is to make our sessions feel supportive, genuine, and approachable. My journey to mental healthcare I always knew that I wanted a career in mental health. My sixth-grade yearbook career goal said "Psychiatrist" (maybe someday!). I was a fourth-grade teacher for nine years before I went back to school to get my master's degree in 2004. I graduated with a dual degree in school counseling and clinical mental health, meaning I was able to work with kids in school settings and adults in private practice.
