Hi there, I'm Donna! Donna Young is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the State of Georgia with over 20 years of experience assisting adolescents, teens, young adults, and families with managing anxiety, depression, relationship issues, and adjusting to life. She earned her Master's in Mental Health Counseling from Capella University. My approach Donna takes an eclectic approach that meets the client where they are and encompasses cognitive-behavioral, solution-focused, and person-centered therapy. My focus Donna has worked with clients ages 7 to 68, with diagnoses including adjustment disorder, Major Depressive Disorder, Anxiety Disorder, Anti-Social Personality Disorder, and disorders on the Autism Spectrum. She treats clients on the Telehealth platform as well as in a private office. My communication style Donna creates an environment built on trust, understanding, flexibility, and safety. Clients who work with Donna will feel empowered through a series of coping skills that allow them to express their needs and wants while respecting the needs and wants of others. My journey to mental healthcare I worked in the customer service field for years and I love children. A friend noticed my passion for the work I was doing and directed me to a foster care agency to put my skills to use helping others. My passion for people and their success is what drives me to continue in this field. My goals for you Goal setting is a major step in treatment that must be developed with the client. This has to be what the client wants to achieve in treatment.
