Hi there, I'm Donyell! I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) based in Texas. I earned my Master’s in Social Work with a focus on Services to Children and Families from Our Lady of the Lakes University. I have 14 years of experience in the social work field, working with diverse populations. My clients often describe me as empathetic, compassionate, and attentive. I pride myself on being an open-minded lifelong learner with a keen interest in evidence-based practice interventions. My approach I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to address a wide range of psychological issues. CBT helps recognize how your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors influence each other. My goal is to collaborate with patients on a treatment strategy tailored to their current life circumstances. By the end of treatment, patients are empowered with practical skills to independently navigate life challenges beyond therapy sessions. Compassion-focused treatment focuses on self-compassion and plays a big role in helping individuals with high self-criticism, shame, and guilt. It helps build the skills and resilience needed to alleviate suffering and bring about change in your life. Strengths-based therapy focuses on finding and building qualities you possess so that you can use them to solve your problems. My focus I have extensive experience with elderly individuals 65 years old and above, as well as disabled individuals ages 18-64yo, so I understand struggles due to the aging process and having individualized needs. I understand the importance of support and direction needed for struggles early on in life as well. I have the skill set to support individuals throughout all walks of life, of all ages become the best versions of themselves by using a Person-Centered Approach. My communication style I practice active listening to create a nonjudgmental safe space for clients.
