Hi there, I'm Dorothy! Hello! My name is Dorothy Milana, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the state of Florida. I earned my Master's in Social Work from the University of South Florida. I approach all of my clients from a stance of strength and empowerment and strive for my clients to feel hopeful from session one. I work with individuals and couples with a primary focus on grief, anxiety, depression, self-confidence, and relationship struggles. My approach I recognize you, the client, are the expert of your experience and will treat you as such. I use a collaborative approach with my clients as we work together to bring you to a place where you feel healthier and more confident in yourself and your emotions. I use a mixture of approaches but lean heavily on Emotionally Focused Therapy with a mix of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy as well. I also provide Christian-based therapy for my Christian clients. My focus I find extremely high success rates with clients who are internally motivated to face their truths and get uncomfortable. Those clients who aren't afraid to acknowledge their weak spots and face their challenges head-on do the best when working with me. I always aim to get to the deep root cause of any issue you might be facing, so my clients can expect to go deeper than simple symptom management. I want my clients to have long-term, lasting success with our work together. My communication style I am a highly empathetic provider. My clients often express feeling warmly welcomed and accepted by me. They will tell you I do not judge and ask the hard questions with compassion and kindness while also filled with genuine curiosity. You will find in our sessions an environment filled with hope and positivity. My journey to mental healthcare Being a therapist has always felt natural to me.
