Getting to know Efia R. Miles

What if I told you that you already have the answers? How you speak to yourself matters. I'm happy to help you rediscover the compassionate inner voice that you deserve. We'll identify unhelpful patterns of thinking that influence your beliefs about yourself and the world around you, reprocess residual feelings, and identify dissociative behaviors that sometimes follow really terrible experiences. I will bear witness as you rewrite your story. I'm also a really great listener when you just need to vent about the really f'ed up day you're having. It can get really lonely when you feel like the people you love the most don't understand or won't be able to handle what you have to unload. I hold a Master's degree in Military Social Work from the University of Southern California, which informs my approach to trauma and resilience. Our sessions will be virtual, but a human connection is guaranteed. It's YOUR time.

What should a new client know about working with you?

My sessions are 100% virtual, meaning we will hear and see each other using a video conferencing feature of a HIPAA-compliant therapy platform called Simple Practice. I have spent the better part of the last 12 years providing therapy to people who have experienced trauma, depression, anxiety, health-related problems, going through crisis and many other things that can cause someone to feel out of control, helpless or hopeless. We all have strengths despite what we've been through, so I try to help you find out what those are to help you get through what is causing distress now and can be utilized going forward to improve your quality of life.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
