There’s a reason they say, “It takes a village to raise a child.” Parenting can get hard. REALLY hard. But there’s no need for your family to navigate the storm alone. I proudly serve parents and children who are struggling with challenging behaviors, developmental transitions, or child and adult mental health issues. I strive to create a therapeutic atmosphere where each person feels seen and heard. Through a play-based approach, I can begin to communicate with your child and be a guide as they make sense of their feelings and behaviors. But parents need support, too. Parent well-being is just as important as a child’s well-being. “Parent Check-ins” are a time to focus on you and your experiences without judgment (and without kiddos). These meetings are flexible and can be a place to vent, ask questions, explore parenting styles and strategies, but mostly to uplift you and your parenting because you are doing a good job. Working with BOTH parents and children at the same time may seem a little much or too demanding, but in my experience, it has led to better outcomes, long-lasting change, and a stronger attachment or bond between parent and child. I hold a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley, which informs my compassionate and evidence-based approach. Schedule a free initial consultation so we can get to know each other and talk about ways I may be able to help.
