Eliana received her Bachelor of Social Work from Illinois State University and her Master of Social Work from Northeastern Illinois University in 2023. She is a Licensed Social Worker. Eliana has experience working with children and adults. Working in a variety of settings has strengthened her perspective on the mental health challenges clients may face, and she encourages her clients using a strengths-based approach. She is skilled in flexible thinking, perspective taking, social thinking, conflict resolution, zones of regulation and feelings identification, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. What should a new client know about working with you?

I understand that therapy can be a big step for many. That's why I want to ensure a welcoming and comfortable space for whomever I work with. I tend to share my own experiences, if it connects to what one is speaking of, and I want to help in any way I can. I have experience in a school setting and I try my best to connect to schools, doctors, and so on to best support my client. I encourage honesty! If there is something a client of mine would be interested in me doing, I do my best to follow through. I will always let my clients know that I will never be mad at them for their answers or responses. Communication means so much to me and is so important in sessions!

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I often encourage open communication with parents and kids. I consider the therapy process to be accompanied by many goals and we should all partake in the accomplishments! When working with my younger clients, I tend to bring parents in at the end to make sure they're aware of what was learned about and/or planned in the session. My goal isn't just to assist your child, but also the family as a whole.
