Getting to know Elias Ellis

Hello. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences. I received my Master of Social Work degree from California State University, Dominguez Hills, and my Bachelor of Social Work from Arkansas State University. I’ve had the privilege of working with multiple heroic individuals who have been overwhelmed by life’s stressors—trauma, grief and loss, end-of-life conditions, conflicted relationships, and loss of employment. These individuals have sometimes forgotten who they really are and are willing to cope with subsequent trauma responses. My specialty lies in the fields of trauma, interpersonal conflicts, adolescent development, anxiety, and depression. No person is the same; therefore, I draw upon a vast array of psychotherapeutic modalities to assist each individual client in identifying their problems and recognizing how their thoughts and emotions impact their behavioral responses.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I listen closely to understand your unique perspective and experiences. My approach is warm, non-judgmental, and collaborative. I tailor my language to what works best for you, creating an environment of trust and openness where we can work together to support your goals and well-being. I've had the privilege of working with individuals overwhelmed by trauma, grief, loss, conflicted relationships, and major life transitions. I'm passionate about helping people who have forgotten who they really are reconnect with their authentic selves and build resilience.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

My approach to goal setting allows you to be open to changing patterns of behavior. We'll work collaboratively to identify what matters most to you and create sustainable pathways toward the life you want to live. During our first session, I'll focus on building rapport through active listening. We'll explore what brings you to therapy, discuss your goals, and begin to understand how we can work together to support your well-being.
