Elizabeth Armstrong, LCSW

Psychotherapist
CA
Hi there, I'm Elizabeth! Feeling overwhelmed? Sad or stressed? I am here for you. My focus I love working with teenagers and young adults. I remember those years and how tough they can be. I really enjoy helping younger people figure out solutions for their future. My approach I use cognitive behavioral therapy often in order to help you change your thoughts to more helpful ways of looking at your concerns. I am warm and will guide you gently to solutions. I use a little humor when appropriate. My communication style I am warm and friendly and a session with me is comfortable. I don't come in with an agenda. I go where you want to go. My journey to mental healthcare I heard about an abused teenager, and I felt I would like to help kids that are struggling. I used to work with gang members in Los Angeles, and I loved that job! I learned a lot about working with people from different backgrounds and I think I taught them the same. I received my Master's in Social Work from California State University Long Beach. My goals for you I ask you what your goals are, and we decide together how you are comfortable reaching them. This is your journey and we work as a team to reach your goals. Our first session I like to get to know you in my first session. What is important to you? Who are you and what do you care about? What do you do in life? I feel that a good relationship builds trust in our work together.
