“There are people in your life that come and go and there are those that make a difference, a parent, a spouse, a best friend. Elizabeth Harris is that person to me, not only has she helped me cope with my ongoing issues but she has given me the skills I need to self heal when in dire need of care. Its been just a short time with her as my therapist, but her positive impact has made me a better person in every way for a lifetime. I would be lost without her. And to all of you out there, vulnerability is a strength. Dont miss an opportunity to talk to qualified therapists like Elizabeth, she is not A game changer, she is THE game changer.”

Getting to know Elizabeth (Ashton) Harris

As a strengths-based, patient-centered, and trauma-informed therapist, I will work with you to identify and achieve your individual goals for emotional growth and healing. I hold a Master's in Social Work and Public Health from San Diego State University, which informs my holistic approach to care. My areas of specialty include substance abuse, self-harm, codependency, disordered eating, and other maladaptive coping mechanisms. Oftentimes, what brings us to therapy are the harmful coping mechanisms that once served a vital purpose and helped us survive intolerable circumstances. Unfortunately, these coping strategies can eventually interfere with healthy relationships, emotional regulation, and day-to-day functioning. I utilize Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills training, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and trauma-focused approaches to address harmful behaviors and introduce healthy, functional coping skills to help you achieve a life worth living. I will always support your self-determination and aim to help you develop tools that will serve you for the rest of your life.
