Elizabeth Avery Rowles, LPC

Psychotherapist
GA
Hi there, I'm Elizabeth Avery! Together, we'll bring what's troubling you into the light and start doing things differently. I specialize in trauma resolution and the effect trauma has on the body, mind and conception of self. Trauma effects can show up in a spectrum of physical, emotional and mental symptoms- anxiety, depression, OCD, chronic pain, pornography addiction, over working, alcohol, drugs, etc. I'm here to show you the way out of what has been holding you back from being the most genuine and free version of yourself. My approach In our work together, we'll take a compassionate and tailored approach to help you navigate what you're working through. Using techniques like mindfulness, Somatic Experiencing, tools from DBT, and Brainspotting- we'll reconnect with the emotional experiences that were too big to deal with in the past and make them manageable in the present. Therapy isn't always easy, but it's a space where you can bring even the hardest experiences into the light. The work is about liberating you from shame, and we'll work through whatever comes up together, whether it means understanding what's happening in your body or just taking time to sit with difficult emotions. It might feel uncomfortable at times, but you're not alone in this process. And sometimes, we'll even find moments to laugh as you uncover your strength and resilience. It's not you- it's what happened to you.
