Elizabeth Bevan, LMFT

Psychotherapist
CA
Hi there, I'm Elizabeth! My approach to therapy is to create a safe, supportive, and accepting therapeutic relationship. I believe in people's innate desire to move toward the life that is best for them. However, sometimes life gives us challenges that can make it hard to feel fulfilled. When working with me, you will find that I support you in moving toward your goals and learning new skills to manage life's challenges. I am genuinely interested in learning your story. With over a decade of experience in mental health and a Master's in Counseling from Sonoma State University, I have discovered the value of working from a Person-Centered perspective. This means I believe, honor, and respect that you know what is best for you. To support you in telling your story and learning new skills to manage symptoms, I utilize approaches from various trauma-informed therapeutic practices, including Narrative Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness, and Somatic Therapy. I specialize in working with adults who have experienced trauma and struggle with depression, anxiety, or psychosis. My communication style is honest and open while being respectful of your life experiences and background. During my decade-plus of experience in mental health care, I have had the opportunity to work with a wide variety of people and mental health challenges and developed a specialization in working with people who experience psychosis. Two years ago, I decided to go into private practice. While I still derive a great deal of joy from working with people who experience psychosis, I have grown my areas of specialization to include trauma, anxiety, and depression. I will work with you to develop the goals that you want to achieve. As a Person-Centered therapist, I believe you know the goals that are best for you. I will give honest feedback and help you explore the barriers you may be experiencing to reach your goals.
