Psychotherapist
CA
Hi there! My name is Elizabeth Christy, and I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Certified Sex Educator. I earned my Master’s in Social Work from the University of Southern California. I utilize a strengths-based approach to collaborate with patients to reach their goals and improve their overall well-being. My approach I specialize in treatment modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Mindfulness, and Psychodynamic Therapy. I am also a social justice advocate and LGBTQ+ ally. My focus I use a mindfulness-based approach to develop individualized treatment plans that help reduce the impact of emotional and mental challenges affecting day-to-day well-being. I specialize in supporting patients coping with symptoms of depression, anxiety, stress, grief, loss, trauma, transition, and other emotional and mental challenges. My communication style I strive to create a safe, non-judgmental space where patients can unpack the challenges they experience each day. By utilizing a strengths-based approach, I support patients in reframing the influence of negative mindsets or critical self-talk on their daily well-being and empower them to feel more capable of navigating challenges. My journey to therapy I have always been drawn to helping and supporting others and have had the good fortune to work in different capacities with patients across the lifespan. I am constantly in awe of the resilience and capability my patients demonstrate and inspired to continue holding space for others to process their emotions safely. My goals for you I aim to meet each patient where they are initially and support them in creating unique treatment goals that assist them in both the short and long term. My first session with you An opportunity to build rapport, learn more about one another, and introduce what you’d like to focus on in treatment.
