Elizabeth Collazo, LMFT

Psychotherapist
CA
Hi there, I'm Elizabeth! Hello, my name is Elizabeth Collazo. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) with a Master’s in School Counseling from California State University, East Bay. Life is beautiful, yet often filled with pain and suffering. We face many challenges, including loss, transitions, childhood wounds, attachment injuries, relationship difficulties, and other stress-inducing issues. In response, we cope in ways we’ve been taught, sometimes not realizing these strategies may lead us further into suffering. These attempts to escape or numb pain can inadvertently hurt those closest to us or deepen hopelessness and fear of the future. My approach Through therapy, I help individuals, couples, and families recognize their suffering and take steps to alleviate it. Using an integrative approach of DBT, CBT, self-compassion, attachment-based interventions, and other modalities, I work alongside clients (in English and Spanish) to help them find strength to overcome adversity, meet life goals, and create a life of joy and fulfillment. My focus I work with a wide range of clients including teens, young adults, couples, and families. My approach best supports those experiencing stress, grief, depression, anxiety, and relational difficulties. My communication style I create an environment where clients can openly discuss their stressors and life challenges. I assist clients in identifying their life vision and gaining awareness of how childhood wounds or adverse circumstances cause behavior patterns leading to personal and relational pain. I help clients learn new skills for self-acceptance, growth, relational connection, and healing.
