Psychotherapist
MA
Hi there, I'm Elizabeth! Hello! My name is Liz Cox, and I have been a Licensed Mental Health Counselor for over 25 years. I earned my Master’s in Counseling from Antioch University – New England in Keene, NH. My objective is to support you in becoming the best version of yourself. We will work together to navigate your individual challenges by developing the tools and skills necessary to move forward and accomplish your goals. My approach My approach to therapy is generally in the Cognitive Behavioral realm, goal-oriented and shorter term; however, therapy should be individualized and based on the reason for seeking support. Some examples of modalities I utilize are ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy), Exposure Therapy, Behavioral Activation, Prolonged Exposure, and CAMS (Collaborative Assessment and Management of Suicide). My focus My expertise is working with individual adults experiencing various struggles such as life transitions, trauma, relationship issues, anxiety, depression, substance use, building self-confidence, building connectedness, and exploring family dynamics. I also work with people looking to create healthy habits and focus on personal growth. My communication style I strive to create an open, non-judgmental space through honesty and transparency. My goal is for you to feel supported and motivated. My journey to mental healthcare I believe in people’s ability to succeed and overcome; helping someone build confidence and address their personal challenges to improve their emotional and mental well-being is extremely rewarding and inspiring. My goals for you I look to approach goal setting collaboratively from the start as a means to structure our sessions and to provide evidence relative to progress. I believe it is important to regularly reflect on your objectives to make sure we are on a trajectory that is most helpful for you, knowing that goals can shift and change over time.
