Elizabeth Cozad, LCSW

Psychotherapist
CA
Hi there, I'm Liz. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a Master's in Social Work from California State University Long Beach. I am passionate about supporting you and providing a safe space to explore your feelings and thoughts. My approach is client-centered. I believe that a therapeutic relationship should be a collaborative one in which you and I work together to discover creative strategies, solutions, and, at times, even humorous insights to help your new ways thrive. I work with clients over 18 years old and older adults. I am comfortable treating anxiety, social issues, trauma, stress, life transitions, infertility, school counseling, aging, and chronic illness. My communication style is warm, empathetic, integrative, pragmatic, and honest. I decided to become a therapist because I love helping people of all ages. I enjoy every aspect of it-the honor of being entrusted, the incredible human connection, and being able to make a difference in someone's life. My approach to goal setting includes understanding your needs, making goals specific and measurable, communicating and collaborating regularly, providing feedback, and adjusting as needed. In our first session, you can expect us to spend most of the time talking about how you've been feeling recently, with me asking questions to better understand some of why you may be feeling that way. The first session is about building an initial connection and helping me get a sense of where we should go from there. Everyone is different, and I like to listen first before assuming I know what will work best for you moving forward.
