Psychotherapist
MD
Hi there, I'm Elizabeth! Hello and welcome! My name is Liz and I have been helping individuals, couples, and families for over 15 years. Making the decision to start (or return) to therapy can feel heavy, and I'm so glad you're here to take care of yourself and/or your loved one. My role is to support you in realizing your good life. My focus I have extensive experience helping folks work through difficult life experiences, such as transitions with family or personal relationships, including loss, grief, and trauma. I also support folks living with ongoing personal challenges, such as self-worth issues, anxiety, depression, stress, and the impact of trauma. My approach Care is collaborative and I work with you to determine together the best approach to help. I know you are an expert in you and your experiences, and I view my role as a helper in figuring out what the stuck points are and how we use your strengths to work through those to get to a more peaceful place. My communication style My goal is to help you to feel safe and comfortable in our working space together, so that you will feel ready to begin this collaborative work. My communication style is warm and supportive - and maybe a little humor here and there. My journey to mental healthcare I came to the helping field as a career change over 15 years ago. My (at the time) children and I had benefited from some amazing helping providers over the years, and I felt called to pay that help forward. It has been the privilege of a lifetime to have the opportunity to get to know and help some incredible and resilient folks! My goals for you In our first or second session, we will develop a plan together that identifies your top 1-2 goals for therapy and identify how you might know you have reached those goals. We'll also discuss the ways our sessions will support your goals.
