Getting to know Elizabeth Hutchinson
In therapy, I use a holistic, empathetic, and non-judgmental approach. I also focus on relationship building and trust to create a setting in which clients can work towards their goals and progress. My key areas of clinical experience include anxiety and depression, coping with trauma and abuse, anger issues, crisis intervention, drug and alcohol use, self-injurious behavior, sexual identity, body image and eating disorders, life transitions, and concerns related to outside stressors such as work, relationships, or school.
For five years, I have worked as a school-based counselor providing counseling to adolescents. I hold an MEd in Community and School Counseling from DePaul University. As I move into private practice, I am broadening my client work to families, couples, and individuals (adolescents and adults). I am particularly interested in working with mothers and their perinatal mental health.
