Elizabeth Serrato, LCSW

Elizabeth Serrato, LCSW

Psychotherapist
CA
My name is Elizabeth Serrato, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) based in Los Angeles, California. I work with adolescent and adult clients statewide via telehealth. I have extensive experience helping clients improve anxiety, depression, and overall stress symptoms that life and transitions create. I earned my Master’s in Social Work from the University of Southern California, which provided me with a strong foundation to support my clients effectively. My approach to therapy varies based on each client’s needs. I most frequently use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy because it helps us build a shared understanding of their reality, allowing us to create change that improves their lives. My style and approach fit teens and adults dealing with life transitions and social pressures, often manifesting as anxiety, depression, stress, and substance use. I help clients navigate these periods and build skills to feel better about themselves and develop a more positive outlook. My communication style is calm, accommodating, and personable while remaining honest. My goal is for clients to feel comfortable talking about anything so we can face negative thoughts and fears, breaking ground for positive change. My journey to becoming a therapist was unconventional. I initially wanted to be a high school teacher and worked at a school, where conversations with teens shifted from science to personal problems. I was drawn to help students through difficult times, understanding their lives had to be addressed before academic learning. Watching these teens become better versions of themselves was rewarding, so I decided to go to graduate school.
