Getting to know Elizabeth Townsend

I work with people who live everyday lives with their families and friends. However, for them there are challenges in their lives they must face. Sometimes those challenges are not visible to the naked eye. I see them struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, or grief. I see them experiencing anger or loneliness. I see my clients masking their struggles with smiles that belie emotional pain. They don't want judgement or lectures. I provide support to manage that struggle, refocus on their true selves, and reconnect with joy. I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Florida. I have worked in outpatient as well as inpatient crisis settings. As a strong believer in client advocacy and unconditional positive regard, I use evidence-based practices from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to Existential Therapy to meet each person's needs. As your therapist, I will provide a platform on which you and I will build a strong and compassionate therapeutic relationship. Together we can discover ways for you to achieve your goals, be true to your values, and create a tomorrow with new light.
