Psychotherapist

Hello and thank you for having the courage to obtain support. Life can bring many unexpected challenges, including grief and loss. Others are dealing with childhood trauma and/or adult trauma that impacts their current relationships. Sometimes we try to cope with these challenges on our own or deny that they have even occurred. It can be helpful to have someone guide us through these personal challenges with empathy, support, kindness, and wisdom. The therapy I provide is supportive and affirming, facilitating healing through compassionate care. I use an eclectic combination of therapeutic techniques, including attachment-based therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, family systems, mindfulness, cognitive behavioral therapy, and psychodynamic modalities, coupled with expressive arts therapy. I tailor the treatment to meet your needs, personality, and experiences. Oftentimes, it helps just to have a good listener to acknowledge your pain, process thoughts and feelings, and teach coping strategies and emotional regulation to help find meaning in your life experiences. Developing new tools helps individuals engage in healthier, balanced, and happier lives. I hold a Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Loyola Marymount University, which informs my approach to care. If you are seeking support, I will actively work with you to help you reach your goals spiritually, emotionally, and relationally.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I work with the clients where they are and seek to engage and develop a therapeutic relationship before delving into sensitive or painful topics like trauma. It is essential to have a sense of trust developed to do the work necessary for healing. I prefer to assist my clients with developing coping strategies and psychoeducation about diagnosis and treatment in the first few sessions. Then we work together to begin treatment in the modality that works best for the person and their needs.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
