Elizabeth Wray, LMFT

Psychotherapist
CA
Hi there, I'm Elizabeth! I am a licensed marriage and family therapist, clinical supervisor, and EMDR therapist working with adults, adolescents, and couples. I earned my Master?s in Marriage and Family Therapy from California State University, Northridge. I?m a humanistic and client-centered therapist, which allows us to work together collaboratively to set goals. I have experience working in eating disorder treatment, which has allowed me to support individuals, families, and teens. My approach I approach psychotherapy from the belief that all clients have the ability to change, and that together we can do this. My top modalities are humanistic, client-centered, EMDR, trauma-informed care, and eclectic. My specialties include trauma and eating disorders. My focus My ideal client is someone who wants to be in therapy, has a desire to change, and is committed to showing up each week to do the ?hard work? of therapy together. The care I provide is unique because we set goals together and find the best modality to achieve those goals. My communication style My communication style is assertive?often listening first, validating, and also challenging in a way that encourages introspection and change. My tone is gentle, compassionate, and reflective. My journey to therapy I was drawn to therapy after my own experience and knew that helping others in the ways I had helped myself was my calling. I have been fully trained in EMDR therapy and received hands-on training while working in eating disorder treatment. My goals for you My goal for each client is to set goals collaboratively and work together both in sessions and in between on ways to reach those goals. Progress is usually incremental and often reflected in a decrease in overall symptoms and the client expressing feeling better. My first session with you The first session will be a chance for us to explore more in-depth what brought you to therapy, what you are looking for in sessions, and to set goals.
