My clients are high-functioning adolescents and adults who outwardly look like they have it all together but don't feel that way inside. Facing a life transition might have them question what makes them who they are. They might feel stuck, afraid that change might be too difficult or risky. I believe that it is a radical act to feel whole and centered in oneself while living an authentic life. Our personal history does not have to determine our future. It is possible to choose growth, find meaning in painful experiences, reclaim injured parts of ourselves, reawaken intuition and creativity, and be who we always were meant to be.
I collaborate with my clients to search for the unconscious origins of symptoms like depression, anxiety, insomnia, anger, or numbness. We examine trauma history, difficult emotions, negative beliefs, dreams, symbols, family dynamics, and social conditioning. Truly conscious choice then becomes available and major shifts can be made with gentle adjustments.

I consider therapy to be a collaborative process in which empathy, curiosity, and humor are essential elements. During our initial sessions, we will talk about the issues that brought you to therapy, your personal history, and your goals. Together, we'll create a plan for your treatment. During the course of therapy, I'll check in with you and make adjustments as we go.
What is your typical process for working with clients?
The treatment types I use fall into the category of depth psychology, a type of talk therapy that works to bring the unconscious to consciousness. I help my clients understand themselves and their array of possible futures by bringing unconscious elements to conscious awareness. I offer Eye Movement Desensitization (EMDR) and Trauma-Informed Stabilization Treatment (TIST), powerful therapies designed to alleviate the distress of traumatic memories and transform them into sources of strength and empowerment. I guide clients to develop healthy patterns for high-quality sleep with CBT for Insomnia (CBT-I).
