What should a new client know about working with you?

I also recognize how difficult parenting can be, especially when your children are having difficulties of their own. That’s why I love to partner with my parents and provide resources and strategies so that you can also get some help! I am trained in using Solution-Focused Brief Therapy and incorporate that throughout all of my sessions. That being said, I also like to use other kinds of activities depending on each client’s needs. For younger kids, I often use play-based or art-based interventions. I enjoy using activity-based interventions like sand tray and art for older teenagers. I believe in having the client decide what we do, so each session can look different and a variety of activities can be used.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Here are some important facts about working with us: 1. You will receive an email from Reach Counseling with a link to complete the intake and consent forms. These forms must be completed before your first appointment, or the appointment must be rescheduled. 2. You must also leave a credit card on file for payment for future appointments. We do not accept insurance, so payment is due after each session. 3. If your child is a minor, the first session will be with the parent to go over your concerns to formulate a plan to help best help your child. 4. If you share custody of your child, we will need to get the consent of the other parent to provide counseling services to your child. We will also need the custody arrangement on file. 5. After the first Intake session with the parent, we will schedule the first session for your child's therapy. We recommend that sessions be scheduled weekly for the first 6 sessions to help build rapport and momentum. 6. We cannot see children ages 8 and under virtually. We believe that younger clients better benefit from in-person appointments. We are happy to schedule in-person appointments at our North Fort Worth office.
