Emily Gross, LPC

Psychotherapist
TX
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Texas and Colorado with over 7 years of experience as an intake coordinator, counselor, and crisis prevention specialist. I hold a Master's degree in Counseling from The University of Texas at Tyler. I have worked with clients facing a wide range of concerns, including depression, anxiety, relationship issues, parenting challenges, career difficulties, mood disorders, intellectual disabilities, and ADHD. I have also supported many individuals who have experienced physical trauma or emotional abuse. My approach My counseling style is collaborative. I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion. I value honesty and do not sugarcoat things. The working relationship is powerful for success in therapy. My approach combines cognitive-behavioral and solution-focused therapy. My focus I work with clients of varying ages, socioeconomic statuses, and ethnic backgrounds. While I address many issues, I tend to help people experiencing depression, anxiety, mood disorders, and ADHD. My communication style I strive to create a warm environment. I encourage clients to share if something doesn't feel right or if the counselor/client relationship isn't working. Therapy should be a place where clients feel they truly matter. My journey to mental healthcare I did not know I wanted to be a therapist until taking a psychology class as an undergraduate, which was eye-opening. I am driven to this work by my own trauma, healing, and struggles with mental health. Personal experience with mental health challenges helps me relate more deeply to those I help. My goals for you Clients take the lead in setting goals, which often evolve as therapy progresses. My first session with you During the first session, clients should expect an intake process. The intake can be repetitive and may feel boring due to many questions, but it is an important step.
