Emily Langenberg, LPC

Psychotherapist
1740 Rdg Ave, Unit 007, Evanston, IL
As a therapist, I work with people who want to understand themselves more deeply and live with greater clarity, freedom, and authenticity. Many of my clients come to therapy feeling stuck in old patterns or burdened by stories and expectations that no longer fit. Together, we explore these layers with curiosity and compassion, creating space for growth and new possibilities. My approach is collaborative, relational, and grounded in the belief that healing happens through self-discovery and connection. I see therapy as a creative process — one that invites openness, imagination, courage, and sometimes even humor and play. Whether we’re talking, reflecting, or finding new perspectives, our work is guided by your unique needs and goals. I’m especially passionate about supporting individuals who experience the world differently — including those who identify as neurodivergent or Autistic — as well as people navigating complex trauma, identity, spirituality, or feelings of otherness. I also have experience working with adolescents, ADHD, and disability-related concerns. I earned my Master’s in Counseling and Art Therapy from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. My background as an artist, storyteller, and teacher continues to influence how I see the therapeutic process: as a space for creativity, self-expression, and transformation. Outside of work, I love running long distances, spending time in nature, playing music, dancing, woodworking, reading, and writing
