Getting to know Emily Leon

Anxious? Angry? Sad? Easily triggered? Discover and build tools to manage daily and post-trauma stressors. Become more resilient when facing life?s difficulties. Reduce or eliminate distorted thoughts and harmful behaviors that interfere with being your true self. Therapy, using models like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused CBT (TF-CBT), and Child-Parent Psychotherapy (CPP), can help you find more meaning in relationships, be more productive at work, create space for self-care, and enjoy life with loved ones. I appreciate CBT because it focuses on your current life rather than solely on past events. TF-CBT is valuable as it is short-term, typically no more than 16 sessions. CPP strengthens the relationship between a child and their caregiver. As your therapist, I am passionate about helping children, teens, adults, couples, and parents find peace and develop healthy coping skills. With 7 years of experience working with clients from birth to age 50, I believe children, individuals, parents, and families need skills to love, accept, and trust themselves throughout therapy. While early intervention benefits children, it is never too late for adults to seek therapy and better understand their emotions. I invite you to explore your thoughts and feelings as I assist you in discovering your true self. My goal is to support clients in cultivating a healthy and trusting relationship with themselves. My client-centered, empathetic approach helps you make sense of present and past struggles, trauma, and unhealed wounds. I have experience supporting clients with anxiety, depression, trauma, ADHD, anger management, loss and grief, self-esteem, relational difficulties, family conflict, and parenting challenges. I hold a Master?s degree in Mental Health Counseling from Mount Saint Mary?s University.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I work with clients to create an open and safe environment where thoughts and feelings can be shared without fear of judgment. I believe that you are the expert of your story and that you have many strengths that will assist you in overcoming things that challenge you. It takes courage to seek out a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps towards change. I am here to support and empower you in that journey. Give yourself a break from overthinking. It’s okay to not know all the answers. They’ll come to you in time.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
