Getting to know Ena Melton-Myers

My name is Ena (pronounced ee-nah) Melton-Myers. I am currently a Licensed Professional Counselor in Georgia. I earned my Master's in Counseling from Argosy University. For me, therapy is about growth for you in whatever way will have the most positive impact at this time. In some phases of life, growth comes in small steps that help break down what feels overwhelming. In other phases, we are ready for growth that feels like leaps and bounds. Our time together will focus on what you need right now to be better tomorrow. My approach I work primarily from a humanistic perspective, which means I believe you have the potential to live a full and enjoyable life as you define it. I respect that; while I have expertise in psychology, you are the expert on you. I also use cognitive behavioral therapy and other modalities as they best fit the growth you are seeking. My focus I've been fortunate to work with a wide array of clients and am comfortable treating most conditions. I am often drawn to work with people recovering from trauma (especially complex or recurrent trauma), managing overwhelm, anxiety, or depression, struggling with a sense of self or redefining their identity, having relationship difficulties or confusion about their behavior in certain situations, and feeling frustrated by a sense of not fitting in. My communication style I believe in collaboration to achieve the growth you want. The goals we work toward are yours, and we each deserve respect in our roles to help you reach them. I promise to be compassionate, direct, and challenging when appropriate. My expectations for you are to do the work and be open and honest with both me and yourself. Therapy is the most intimate work you will ever do. It is not easy, and it is not always comfortable, but it is completely worth it. In therapy, you will feel challenged but also supported and safe.
