Psychotherapist
OH
Hi there, I'm Eric. I've been a therapist for a little over 10 years, and in that time, I've had the privilege of working with individuals, families, and groups in various settings. My journey began in Randolph, and after high school in Louisville (Canton), I earned my bachelor's degree in psychology from The University of Akron in 2008. I then pursued my Master's degree in Professional Counseling from Grand Canyon University, graduating in 2013. Since then, I've advanced my license to become independently licensed and gained a supervisor's designation. Currently, I'm also working towards becoming a licensed drug and alcohol therapist. My approach to therapy is eclectic, meaning I draw from various therapeutic techniques to best meet your unique needs. I am certified in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), which allows me to help clients process and heal from traumatic experiences. Whether you're dealing with ADHD, anxiety, bipolar disorder, borderline personality disorder, depression, PTSD, or navigating family and intimate relationships, I am here to support you. I've also worked extensively with children, providing mental and behavioral health support, and have experience in grief and bereavement counseling, as well as addressing suicidal ideation and self-harming behaviors. In my career, I've had the opportunity to provide intensive in-home family therapy, work as an assistant unit director in a pediatric mental hospital, and supervise other therapists. I've taught anger management classes to kids, divorce classes to parents, and relationship classes to both single and married individuals. Online, I've worked with children and couples, helping them navigate their unique challenges. I believe in creating a safe, non-judgmental space where you can feel comfortable sharing your story. I have no problem engaging in faith-based counseling if that's something you're interested in, but I also welcome anyone who has the desire to work and grow, regardless of their beliefs. Outside of therapy, I enjoy a variety of music and have a passion for writing poetry. In fact, I've published my own book of poetry in the past. These interests help me stay grounded and bring a creative perspective to my work. If you're ready to take the next step in your journey, I'm here to help. Let's work together to find the path that's right for you.
