Hi there, I'm Erica! My name is Erica Barrett, and I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with a Master's in Counseling from Wake Forest University School of Medicine. I like to ensure that my clients get exactly what they need; therefore, I make sure each treatment is individualized. I work mostly with CBT and Motivational Interviewing skills. My approach My approach depends on the client, as each person has different values and areas of need. While I primarily use CBT and Motivational Interviewing, I am very flexible and work with a variety of theoretical approaches. My focus I exclusively work with adults and specialize in supporting veterans and first responders. I work very well with addiction and trauma and am certified in this area. I also provide care for depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, and more. My communication style I am very empathetic while ensuring that messages come across clearly. I like to create a safe environment where clients feel comfortable talking about anything. My journey to mental healthcare I have always had a caring and empathetic nature, am a good listener, and very supportive. We all go through life challenges, which encouraged me to be part of the solution and create a place for people who have struggles similar to those I have faced in the past. My goals for you I am enthusiastic about goal setting, utilizing SMART goals and healthy decision-making skills.
