Getting to know Erica Evans

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) based in Georgia with seven years of experience. I earned my Master’s in Social Work from Florida State University School of Social Work in 2015 and hold a Bachelor’s degree from Valdosta State University. Since graduating, I have worked in school settings, corrections, geriatric care, and private practice. I support my clients in making positive changes in their lives, especially when challenged by depression, anxiety, trauma, abuse, and life-changing situations. My counseling approach is rooted in empathy, mindfulness, and a client-centered perspective, while remaining direct and straightforward. I believe in treating everyone with respect and dignity. I work from the mindset that you are the expert of your story and that you have many strengths to draw from to overcome the lifestyle changes and momentary roadblocks you are experiencing. Before even meeting you, I want to acknowledge the growth you have already begun by seeking therapy. In this very moment, you have taken necessary steps toward change and shown the courage to continue on this path. I am proud of you for getting started! I look forward to meeting you and working together to identify your goals and create the right plans to achieve them.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I'm so happy that you reached out for help. My goal and hope in working together is two-fold. Short term, I'd like to help you to get some relief and sense of closure regarding your current life challenge(s), and to ease some of the obstacles you are currently experiencing so you can live a full life again. Long term, I hope that we can get to the core of the feelings, concerns and dilemmas that are causing strife on your daily functions and interactions with others. I understand that this process this may be new and uncomfortable for you. I want you to know, you have done the first (and most important) step of reaching out for help. Together we will keep taking one step at a time, at a pace that you feel comfortable with.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
