Getting to know Erika Prigo

Hi there, I'm Erika! My name is Erika Prigo; I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (#139621) with a Master’s in Psychology from Pepperdine University. I believe that all people deserve nothing but the best quality of life possible. They should be able to complete their daily tasks with ease and satisfaction. It’s easy to take these tasks for granted, often overlooking the existential challenges that arise regardless of age. My approach I use a combination of treatment modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Existential Therapy, and Narrative Therapy, to find the best fit for you. My focus I work with adolescents and adults, addressing concerns such as depression and mood disorders, life adjustment issues, trauma including childhood trauma, anxiety, self-esteem concerns, and stress. I am also experienced in supporting immigrants facing cultural adjustment challenges. My communication style Empathetic, warm, client-centered, and accepting. Therapy can sometimes feel uncomfortable, and I am here to support my clients through those vulnerable moments. My journey to therapy My primary reason for becoming a therapist was overcoming my own personal struggles that affected my life more than I initially admitted. I realized that to live a more content and emotionally peaceful life, I needed to face and confront these challenges. This made me think about how many others face similar struggles without understanding their impact or how to cope. I want to offer my experiences and knowledge to assist my clients in navigating their concerns. My goals for you I believe in collaborative goal setting, where you are the master of your life. With my guidance and support, we can create a safe space to improve your emotional well-being.
