Getting to know Erin McAdams

Hello. I’m Erin. Would you like to create space for work/life balance? Are there coping skills you know are there but just need to be reignited? Are you having any struggles with relationships and communication? I hold a Master’s in Mental Health Counseling from Appalachian State University and work collaboratively with individuals and families to manage stressors, feelings of anxiety, and triggers. Together, we will develop coping strategies that may challenge past thoughts and behaviors but lead toward the accomplishment of your goals. Sometimes, it is simply reminding ourselves of what worked before and getting back on track or maintaining the positive coping strategies that have been previously developed.

What should a new client know about working with you?

The whole-self will be taken into consideration (mind, body, spirit, community/family). Following your initial visit, we will develop a treatment plan with goals that define those elements in your life where you would like to see change and growth. During individual and family sessions, we will consider where you are on your path toward the accomplishment of these goals, taking it step by step and building skills along the way.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.

Erin has helped me harness tools to walk through a season of intense stress. It is a great comfort to know I have an unbiased advocate for my mental health. She is helping me work towards goals I have been afraid to tackle for years. I'm also learning more about the way my life experiences have shaped my response to the world, which is incredibly helpful as I seek to love those around me well.
I have really enjoyed my time with Erin, I was always a little nervous around therapy in the past. However Erin has made a very comforting environment for me to work through some family-work-life solutions and start working to overcome some issues I have faced.
