She completed her predoctoral internship with the Veterans Administration and a dual postdoctoral fellowship funded by the National Institute of Mental Health at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, training in Psychiatry and Genetics. Dr. Shannon was drawn to psychology through her lifelong desire to understand, learn from, and help others. Raised to “run to the problem, not away from it,” she approaches challenges with curiosity, determination, and compassion. Her background around professional sports also gave her insight into resilience, optimal performance, and the demands of high-pressure environments. She combines holistic practices with evidence-informed psychological approaches, tailoring care to each client’s needs and goals. Her techniques include energy psychology, hypnosis, EFT tapping, trauma debriefing, and narrative restructuring. Through empathy, humor, and honest guidance, she helps clients process difficult experiences, recognize their strengths, and create meaningful, lasting change. Outside of work, Dr. Shannon enjoys reading and learning, traveling, spending time at the beach, and being with her family.
