Hi there, I'm Ernest! As a Therapist, I provide a solution-focused approach in therapy. I use active listening with my clients and offer a different perspective that they may not see or understand. By using the psychodynamic model, I draw parallels between adult and childhood experiences that could be influencing current decisions and experiences. My focus As a Licensed Professional Counselor, I provide counseling services to adolescents, adults, and families who have experienced difficult situations. Oftentimes, life has become overwhelming or difficult to manage. I pride myself on recognizing the impact of stress, anxiety, and trauma from past and present experiences of daily living. My approach I offer evidence-based interventions focused on healing from pain and past trauma. We identify how traumatic experiences affect your present and explore possibilities for recovery by learning to create joy and peace from within. My communication style I am calm, I use empathic listening, and motivational interviewing to establish rapport with my clients. By using positive regard, I see the intent of the client and assist them in reaching their authentic selves. I am naturally a person who likes to have fun, so I try to add humor and recognize the clients' struggle to give themselves grace. My journey to mental healthcare I have worked in mental health as a case manager, life coach, community support specialist, and group home manager. I have taught life skills to families and individuals and facilitated parenting classes. My goals for you I use worksheets, tools, interventions, and videos to help you be self-reflective and identify challenges. I often provide homework to help you navigate personal challenges and create solutions that bring the change you are seeking.
