Welcome! Congratulations on taking an important step toward prioritizing your well-being. Navigating the mental health system can be confusing and difficult, but you are here, and that is already progress. I aim to make that process less daunting and assist you in reaching your desired quality of life. I hold a Master’s in Social Work from Dominican University and strive to provide a safe and supportive space for us to process painful past experiences as well as current difficulties. I will offer and help you practice a variety of techniques that empower you to move beyond your discomfort and trauma to live the fulfilling lifestyle you seek. While addressing your symptoms, we will also explore and build on your personal strengths to improve your self-esteem and boost your confidence. Creating a strong foundation of trust in yourself to handle difficult situations is one of the most powerful tools to manage and prevent depression and anxiety-related symptoms. Therapy does not have to be boring or stressful. Together, we can explore creative approaches such as art, mindfulness, games, hands-on activities and worksheets, videos, and books to enhance your experience in ways that feel most meaningful and helpful to you.

What should a new client know about working with you?

You can expect a welcoming and empathetic space for sessions; I will follow your lead for pace and exploring relevant interventions. As we work together and determine the pace and tools that work best for you, I may gently challenge you to push past discomfort and fear to apply the strategies reviewed during sessions to generate the change you are looking for. I like to start the session by asking for a highlight and a struggle from the past week; after the check-in I will either provide space to process intense current concerns or review homework from the last session. During the session, we will identify and practice effective interventions to address your needs. At the end of the session, we will do another check-in and determine what strategies you will practice for homework throughout the week.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
