What should a new client know about working with you?

For the assessment session, I will want to know what it is that you are needing or wanting from psychotherapy. My job is to provide a safe place to begin the path of psychotherapy. I have 26 years of experience providing psychotherapy to clients with a variety of challenges. I listen, provide support, empathize and care for my clients

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I have an eclectic style, catering to my client's needs. I start where you are, to find out why you are coming to see me. We will work together to figure out how I can help and what your goals are. My orientation tends to be to help you gain insight into the presenting problem. I will work collaboratively with your psychiatrist, if you are on medication and want me involved. My work is to help you gain insight and grow, reduce symptoms and improving relationships.
