Psychotherapist
CA
Hi there, I'm Evelin! Hello, my name is Evelin Lemus, MFT. I am a first-generation Mexican American and the first college graduate in my family. I earned my Master's in Marriage and Family Therapy from California State University, Fullerton. I focus on inner child work and attachment style healing in conjunction with EMDR and Cognitive Behavioral Approaches. I am EMDR Certified and an EMDR Consultant in Training, working with patients to heal past traumatic events, whether big or small. My goal is for your mind and heart to be congruent and for you to feel the best version of yourself. My approach I work with patients healing past events, whether big or small. I consider myself a copilot in your life experience as we navigate healing so these events no longer negatively affect your daily life. My goal for you is to find compassion for your past, presence in your current life, and hope for your future. One theory I am passionate about is Attachment theory and how everyone's childhood relationship with their parents leaves a blueprint for present relationships. I help patients understand their past and achieve tangible goals through EMDR and CBT strategies. I consider patients experts in their own lives and assist in transforming negative beliefs and behaviors into healthy coping skills and a more content life. My focus The clients I primarily work with are women and those who identify as women. Women go through many transitions in a lifetime-early adulthood with self-identity, sexual orientation, starting and graduating college, and transitioning into a career. In adulthood, as work-life balance begins, we question the nature of our relationships, contemplate marriage, and identify patterns we want to change. In later stages such as midlife plateaus, thoughts of retirement, and making peace with past experiences, this space is for you to talk, cry, and figure it out with compassion.
