Getting to know Fabiana Vega

I am a licensed marriage and family therapist with over 30 years of counseling experience. My passion for counseling began in 6th grade when I was nominated to be a peer counselor and witnessed the power of communication, active reflective listening, and conflict resolution to transform relationships. Growing up in a chaotic household, studying psychology helped me develop compassion, empathy, and understanding in the face of profound pain. I earned my master's degree in Counseling Psychology with an emphasis on Health and Corrections from Santa Clara University (Go Broncos!). Let's get started today on writing the next chapter of your life. My approach My own experience with trauma, depression, and anxiety allows me to understand clients from a lived perspective. I combine a humanistic, solution-focused, and transpersonal lens to help clients make transformational shifts in their lives. I provide holistic interventions that treat the whole person, addressing physical activity, nutrition, spirituality, sexuality, gender identity, socialization, and mental health wellness. My focus I am a certified domestic counselor and have worked in diverse clinical environments with varied populations, including youth in special education, group homes, foster care, and those involved with gangs; suicide prevention with incarcerated persons; program director of a drug and alcohol treatment facility; clinician for partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient programs; as well as working with children, teens, couples, LGBTQI+ individuals, polyamorous relationships, geriatric mental health, veterans, active military personnel, and individuals with severe mental illness. My communication style I will work with you to break the chains of multigenerational trauma, abuse, and addiction in your life and family.
